I have worked in the publishing industry for a long time, but decided to change direction a few years ago and moved into the development of commercial property. I wanted to do real things, not just write about things that other people were doing.
In 2006 I started to work for a local Real Estate Agency. Here I made my first deals - the biggest one was the lease of a retail space (one floor -5000 sq. m). I continued my development as Project Co-ordinator in the CIS countries for an independent hotel asset management company: Alex Slors Consulting. The biggest result we achieved in this company was a contract with the owner of the Hyatt Regency development in Minsk, Belarus. Now this project has been temporarily stopped as the majority shareholder has challenges due to the economical crisis. At the same time I have been working independently as a Real Estate Agent in commercial property. There have not been big results, but I have made good contacts with such companies as DEOL-Partners, Arena City, GLD, Dogush, Orga Systems, Mazna Holdings, Oberthure, Adevarul Holding (Free Media Ukraine – newspaper Blik), Kiss FM and others.
At the moment Alex Slors Consulting can not see enough opportunities in CIS for us to continue here in full time employment. And as for my agency – I see that I can not satisfy the needs of larger companies by myself. So it is clear to me that I have to learn more to realize the wishes of such clients.
